What percentage of Dartmouth's expenses are covered by tuition? What are major expenses of the college?

In 2006, tuition was the largest revenue source, representing 40% of all College revenues. Tuition covered 34.3% of Dartmouth's expenses, excluding sponsored research. The major college-only expenses (excluding Tuck, Thayer and Medical schools) for 2006 included salaries (36%), financial aid (18%), other non-compensation expenses (16%), fringe benefits (13%), operation and maintenance and debt service (9%), and sponsored research (8%).
