What is the largest single donation made to the college?

The largest single donation ever to Dartmouth was just recently announced: the $43 million pledge from the Class of 1978, for its 30th reunion next year. The Class has pledged to raise the $40 million necessary to name the College's new life sciences building and contribute at least $3 million in unrestricted gifts supporting the student experience through the Dartmouth College Fund. The Class of 1978’s gift comes on the heels of another major gift, of $20 million from Susan and Peter Williamson ’58, to the Dartmouth Medical School and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. The Williamson gift is the largest gift ever received by the medical school and the medical center.
