I've heard a lot of talk about a "split vote" in the Trustee elections. Does a voter have to choose only one candidate?

The constitution of the Association of Alumni requires that the approval voting method be used in selecting the alumni trustee nominee. This method requires the voter to consider each candidate and to vote for ALL candidates that they believe are fit to hold the office and not simply their top candidate. As a result, voters are encouraged to vote for more than one candidate.

For more information on approval voting, read the story in the current issue of Dartmouth Life.
