Did Charles Eastman attend Dartmouth?

Yes. Charles Eastman was a Dakota Indian who graduated from Dartmouth in 1887 and earned a medical degree from Boston University. He was a prolific writer, national lecturer, and the foremost educated Native American at the turn of the 20th century. The Dartmouth College Library holds copies of his writing and the College has a pre-doctoral fellowship named after him. For more information, see his entry in American National Biography Online.
