Does Dartmouth have a school policy about allowing walk-ons to its varsity athletic teams?

Dartmouth has no formal policy on non-recruited, or “walk-on” athletes. In any given season, a team may be made up of a number of walk-ons, especially considering that there are different recruiting constraints from sport to sport. Some teams, such as crew or sailing, have a significant walk-on presence, while others take a few walk-ons to fill out their rosters. If you’re interested in walking on to a particular team, contact the head coach through the Dartmouth Athletics web site to find out more about walk-on potential for that sport.
