How many emails are sent each day at Dartmouth? How many computers are in use at Dartmouth, and how many are PCs and how many are Macs?

There’s a lot of mail flying over the Dartmouth network. In the first week of the fall term (from Sept. 26-Oct. 2) there were a daily average of 140,000 messages sent and 500,000 messages received. As for computer preferences, there are more than 11,000 devices connected to the Dartmouth network, including computers, servers, and printers. Of the computers, 56% are Windows machines and 44% run Apple’s Macintosh operating system.
