Board of Trustees

Who chairs the board of trustees? Has this changed over the years?

Dartmouth’s Board of Trustees is chaired by Charles E. “Ed” Haldeman Jr., a 1970 graduate of Dartmouth and a member of the Board since 2004 and chair since June, 2007. Haldeman is currently the chief executive officer of Freddie Mac, and was formerly president and chief executive officer of Putnam Investments. The leadership of the board is rotated regularly, with a new chair elected every three years.
